THE PATH

TO SWAMIHOOD

STEP 1

Deciding to be a Bramchari:

Being a Swami doesnt happen overnight. You go trough the inner process of Kundalini Rising and Stabilization and after that you willnotice that you consciousness elevates in a way that people naturally start to notice your connection to your inner self. Its like your own soul family starts to come naturally whereever you go into your field of being and action.

STEP 2

Some people receive the inner call to be a Swami after being for some years Bramchari:

Being a Swami doesnt happen overnight. You go trough the inner process of Kundalini Rising and Stabilization and after that you willnotice that you consciousness elevates in a way that people naturally start to notice your connection to your inner self. Its like your own soul family starts to come naturally whereever you go into your field of being and action.

If you receive the inner call for being a Bramchari this could mean for you for example:

To meditate in an ashram or lonesome place in the nature for at least 6 weeks
To start doing specific yogic techniques
To join regular meditation retreats to check the progress
That you support others in their process

About Swamihood

By Swami Ishan Tirth

After deep spiritual practice and surrender to the true Self the consciousness starts to detach from the material world and clings to the inner world.

In this case the material world and its responsibilities are no more needed. A person who has come to this stage he lives a minimalistic life and can survive on minimum resources only to keep the physical body going. As he is not attached to the material world he doesn’t see any value in luxuries and comforts. In this stage he can stay in a lonesome place and can continue his process of evolution.

A Swami is a master of himself, his senses and emotions.

When a person has achieved these qualitied he can follow the path of Swamihood and make himself free from the social customs, dependencies.
The Swami initiation is one of the highest initiations as described in Vedic scriptures.
There are 10 major lineages of Swamis as established by Adi Shankaracharya. Tirth lineage is one of them. Past Gurus of this lineage gave careful attention for evolution of the disciples without much involvement of the material world.

As this lineage emphasizes Shaktipat any person received Shaktipat from this lineage or having a process of kundalini is always welcomed.

If a person is ready to renounce his material life, he can receive Swami initiation by discretion of the Guru. Then he can continue to live in of the many Ashrams established by the lineage or can continue his practice in any place suitable for him according to Guru’s advice. In all Ashrams all minimalistic material necessities are provided for free and the person becomes part of the Ashram family.

Becoming a Swami is more internal than external.

If the desires bubble inside wearing an orange robe has not much value.
A total surrender for spiritual life and shining wisdom from own true experiences is the real glory of a true Swami.
